The
IRCHSS in partnership with the European Science Foundation (ESF)
supports the European Collaborative Research Programme (ECRP)
in the Social Sciences 2009
The
ECRP Programme is designed to advance international research
collaboration in the social sciences by encouraging
European academic networking and pooling of research expertise.
The EUROCORES Programme is funded by participating national
EUROCORES Funding Agencies (EFAs).
The
ECRP Programme is open to applications on topics within the
social sciences which demonstrate an international
framework for research collaboration. Project applications must
involve collaboration among research teams in a minimum of three
participating countries. Project applications must involve collaboration

Participants based in eligible Irish higher education institutions
and research institutes may apply for maximum funding of €250,000
for up to three years subject to IRCHSS terms and conditions.
Applicants follow a dual application procedure i) Programme
Coordinators apply directly to the ESF on behalf of their entire
consortium, and ii) each national applicant also applies to
its own national council.
The
IRCHSS has supported ECRP since 2005, funding two projects to
date, the next call for applciations (ECRP VI 2010) will launch
at the end of 2009.
